OMETEPE : ELEMENTAL AWAKENING
Elemental Awakening is a ceremonial retreat held during the March Equinox season on the volcanic island of Ometepe—when the forces of light and dark are moving toward balance and the Earth enters a potent threshold of becoming.
Formed by twin volcanoes rising from freshwater, Ometepe is a living portal of manifestation. Across ancient lineages, volcanic islands are understood as places where creation accelerates—where Fire and Water converge, memory is held in the land, and intention offered with reverence can take root swiftly. This island carries both volcanic creation energy and water codex, making it a powerful landscape for transformation and alignment.
During the Equinox season—an ancient time for offerings and recalibration—this gathering is devoted to preparing the inner and outer conditions for what is ready to emerge through ritual, rest, and right relationship.
Throughout our time together, we work with a mix ancestral medicines of the land, and the Sesen (Egyptian Blue Lotus), guided by teachings drawn from Nahuatl, Mayan, and Egyptian cosmologies:
Cacao, as a heart-opening medicine of truth and coherence
Blue Lotus, revered for opening subtle vision and meditative states
Mayan honey, a solar food carrying sweetness and nourishment
Oil of gold, invoking solar consciousness and embodied purpose
These medicines are woven with sound alchemy, elemental immersion, and ritual, creating a field where insight arises naturally and integration is honored.
We journey with the island itself—walking into the volcanic womb, meeting water spirits at sacred thresholds, communing with ancient stones, and making offerings at a powerful manifestation portal known by Kogi Mama as Little Brother. We honor the Sun as a living intelligence and work with gold not as material wealth, but as a state of aligned consciousness.
One evening, we gather for a peak ceremonial initiation, held with care and reverence, supported by plant allies, sound, and prayer—an invitation into direct knowing and remembrance.
Elemental Awakening is not a retreat to escape life, but a rite of alignment within it. A remembering of elemental intelligence. A return to the ways creation moves through us when we listen deeply to the land, the body, and the unseen.
This is an invitation to those who feel the call to pause within the Equinox window,
to make offerings, and to plant seeds ready to germinate.

LOCATION : OMETEPE, NICARAGUA
Ometepe is not merely an island—it is a living alchemical chamber, rising from the waters of Lake Nicaragua, formed by twin volcanoes that have been sacred since time immemorial. Across generations, the Nahuatl-speaking peoples of the region honored these volcanic landscapes as places of Teotl, the animating divine force that flows through Fire and Water, earth and sky. Here, creation itself was understood as a living process, and the island remains a threshold where human and cosmic consciousness meet.
The land holds ancient petroglyphs, etched into stone by hands that understood the language of the elements. These carvings—spirals, anthropomorphic figures, and sacred symbols—are more than markings; they are living portals, encoded with the memory of the ancestors, the rhythms of the Earth, and the cycles of Sun, Moon, and water. Pilgrims of old would walk to these stones to receive guidance, make offerings, and commune with the spirits of the land. Scattered across Ometepe are ceremonial sites, from volcanic craters and sacred springs to hidden groves along the lake, each a locus for ritual, reflection, and connection with the elemental forces.
The Nahuatl lineage of the island speaks of Fire and Water as partners in creation: volcanic heat as the spark of life, and the freshwater lakes and springs as the memory and flow of existence. These elements continue to teach those who come seeking alignment—through meditation, ritual, offerings, or simply listening to the land. Here, the volcanic slopes hum with creation energy, the springs whisper ancestral codices, and the petroglyphs watch silently as the present meets the past.
To enter Ometepe is to step into a portal of manifestation, where intention planted in reverence can germinate. Every journey into its volcanic wombs, every encounter with the sacred stones, every offering at its springs, is a chance to remember the ancient ways, to align with the cycles of nature, and to witness the alchemy of Fire, Water, Earth, and Sky in one living place.
PROGRAMME
Elemental Awakening is a ceremonial journey on the sacred volcanic island of Ometepe, guided by the seasonal balance of the Equinox. Participants are invited to move through the elements—Fire, Water, Earth, and Air—while connecting with ancestral medicines, including cacao, Blue Lotus, Mayan honey, and a peak medicinal ceremony.
The retreat weaves ritual, sound alchemy, and elemental immersion: walking volcanic craters, honoring sacred springs, kayaking with water spirits, temezcal, petroglyphs and making seasonal offering ritual at a powerful manifestation portal known as Little Brother. One evening culminates in a ceremonial initiation, where plant allies, sound, and prayer support direct insight, alignment, and remembrance.
Elemental Awakening is a space to listen to the land, open to subtle guidance, and plant seeds of transformation that can grow long after the journey ends.
TEOTL & SEKHEM
In Nahuatl tradition, Teotl is the living, sacred force that moves through all things. It is not a god, but the animating intelligence of life itself—present in fire and water, sound and stone, breath and becoming. Teotl is experienced as movement, transformation, and flow. When we listen deeply to the land and act in right relationship, we align with its current.
In Ancient Egyptian cosmology, this same animating power is known as Sekhem—spiritual potency, vital force, and the ability for intention to take form. Where Teotl teaches us to move with the living world, Sekhem teaches us how energy gathers, concentrates, and manifests through alignment.
At Sesen Temple, our work bridges these lineages. In Egypt, we learn to hold and embody Sekhem through precision, ritual, and solar alignment. On Ometepe, we learn to listen and move with Teotl, allowing creation to arise through relationship, reciprocity, and elemental harmony.
Together, Teotl and Sekhem form a complete alchemy:
movement guided by power, power softened by reverence.
